Poet Sebastian Peake gives an illustrated talk about his father, Mervyn Peake (1911 – 1968). Most famous for writing the divinely peculiar Gormenghast novels, which still boast a cult following, Mervyn Peake was also a talented painter and illustrator. His painting ‘The Glassblower’ is one of his most popular works at Manchester Art Gallery. This talk will give a fascinating insight into the life and work of the writer and artist.
This is a free event although booking is required from Manchester Art Gallery on 0161 235 8888.
