When : 2nd June 2014 - 6:00pm Where : International Anthony Burgess Foundation Price : Free
This special event features four leading poets - Sean Borodale, Deryn Rees-Jones, Jean Sprackland and Michael Symmons Roberts - who have imaginatively engaged with a diverse range of landscapes: from the CCTV-monitored streets of central London to the non-place of the central reservation of the East Lancs Road; from the liminal edgelands of Manchester and Liverpool to the Romantic uplands of the Wordsworthian Lake District. ‘Senses of Places’ will embark on imaginative journeys across a range of topographies and through the body; poetry will remind us that perhaps we need to think about the rich plurality of ‘senses of place’ rather than a rigidily fixed ‘sense of place’.
