To coincide with Larissa Sensor’s exhibition at Bluecoat, In the Future, They Ate from the Finest Porcelain, Comma Press poses a question to three prominent and emerging Palestinian fiction writers: Can Science Fiction offer a new way of talking about the Palestinian struggle? And what might a new wave Palestinian science fiction look like? Talal Abu Shawish and Rawan Yaghi will both be reading from, and discussing new stories specially commissioned for Comma's forthcoming anthology Nakba + 100, featuring ten stories all set in the year 2048, a century after the 'catastrophe' now known as the 'Nakba'. Meanwhile novelist Rabai al Madhoun has already used the future as a setting for part of his IPAF winning novel, Destinies: Concerto of the Holocaust and the Nakba.
