With Talal Abu Shawish, Rawan Yaghi, Rabai al Madhouse Presented in partnership with Comma Press and Bluecoat Chaired by Ra Page To coincide with Larissa Sensor’s exhibition at Bluecoat, In the Future, They Ate from the Finest Porcelain, Comma Press poses a question to three prominent and emerging Palestinian fiction writers: Can Science Fiction offer a new way of talking about the Palestinian struggle? And what might a new wave Palestinian science fiction look like? Talal Abu Shawish and Rawan Yaghi will both be reading from, and discussing new stories specially commissioned for Comma's forthcoming anthology Nakba + 100, featuring ten stories all set in the year 2048, a century after the 'catastrophe' now known as the 'Nakba'. Meanwhile novelist Rabai al Madhoun has already used the future as a setting for part of his IPAF winning novel, Destinies: Concerto of the Holocaust and the Nakba.
