His name was once chanted by thousands of adoring Liverpool football fans, now it is spoken of with a reverence befitting only prophets and pop icons. The acclaimed stage production charting the story of the legendary Liverpool football manager, Bill Shankly, returns to Sefton as part of its Sefton Celebrates Writing Festival 2008 after its sell-out performance at Crosby Civic Hall as part of last year's celebrations.
Written and produced by broadcaster and author John Keith, the show features actor Kenneth Cope (formerly of TV’s Coronation Street and Randall and Hopkirk Deceased) plus special guest appearances by former Liverpool FC legends who were key players in Shankly’s famous team of the 1960s and 1970s, Ian St John, Chris Lawler and Ron Yeats. The event will include a question and answers session and Ian St John will sign copies of his successful autobiography.
