Journalist, writer and broadcaster Will Self is one of the most respected British contemporary authors. He is best known for his satirical, grotesque and fantastic novels and short stories which are loaded with references and allusions to modern culture both high and low and set in seemingly parallel universes, which include Great Apes, Cock and Bull, How the Dead Live, Dorian and The Book of Dave. He was awarded the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize (1991) for his work The Quantity Theory of Insanity and as a journalist he has contributed to a plethora of publications over the years. He has regular columns in the Evening Standard and The Guardian and is also a frequent broadcaster on television and radio.
