Carl Tighe’s Burning Worm was also shortlisted for the Whitbread First Novel Award, and won the Authors Club Award 2001. His previous books include the speculative stories Pax: Variations; Rejoice! and Other Stories (which was shortlisted for the The Irish Times Fiction Award), and two studies of Polish culture.
