For the fourth year running, Ulverston's festival season is launched by Word Market, the South Cumbria Festival for writers and readers. The Festival features performances, workshops and master classes, readings and special events designed to develop the hidden talents of local writers, inform local readers, and entertain audiences and participants alike, all brought to you by the community-led project Word Market and its member groups. Unlike many traditional literature festivals, there are lots of opportunities for local people to actively take part in the festival.
