This year, Manchester Metropolitan University’s Cheshire Campus have launched the inaugural MMU Novella Award, a new literary prize for an unpublished novella of between 20,000 and 40,000 words. The winner will receive: £1,000 prize money; publication through Sandstone Press; author consideration by Diana Beaumont of Rupert Heath Literary Agency.
The competition is open until 23rd May 2014. After a team of internal readers whittles down the submissions to a shortlist, novelist and lead judge Jenn Ashworth will decide the winner, revealed at the Award’s one-day Novella Festival in July.
