Funding and Commissioning news from The Reader

4th October 2012

This month’s news reflects the UK wide work of The Reader Organisation.

Following the success of the Library Memory groups pilot project, Devon Library Service have commissioned a significant two year project to develop an additional ten groups across the county for people living with dementia and their carers.

Lloyds TSB Foundation NI have provided £3000, our first funding in Northern Ireland, to support a year-long Get Into Reading group in the Educational Shakespeare Company, engaging people who have experienced the criminal justice system.

Merchant Taylors’ Trust have awarded £10,000 to support the growth of groups in Tower Hamlets, whilst the Maudsley Charity have awarded £125,000 to grow the projects in Lambeth and Southwark, and begin work in Lewisham and Croydon over the next 3 years.

Thank you to everyone in The Reader Organisation who helped make these projects happen and continue the growth of Get Into Reading.
