A Lion's Tale

An opportunity not to be missed. Lion Children's Books are hunting for an author (perhaps they have a very small slush pile). The winner  will receive £1000 and a chat about writing with the judges over lunch. Stories should be between 300 and 800 words, have a picture storybook element in mind and incorporate the gentle good values found in Lion Children's books. 

The story can be about anything: an imaginative twist on an old favourite, an animal tale, even 
a celebration or festival. For further inspiration.
look on the website for submission guidelines. The panel of judges will include:  Lois Rock who is commissioning Editor for Lion Children's Books,
Bob Hartman, a popular performance storyteller and Geraldine McCaughrean, 3 times Whitbread Award winner.
