The second instalment of Border Poets' 'Small Presses - Big Voices' series. A series of poetry readings featuring some of the best poets from some of the best poetry presses. This series will celebrate the achievement of small presses in being the lifeblood of poetry in the UK. The best of small presses are imaginative, risk-taking and concerned with qualities of production, often working as cottage industries. Without their efforts, much of the best of UK poetry would not get heard. Starting in September and running monthly until December, there will be a reading featuring two or three poets from one of the best small presses. Poets will be drawn from Cumbria, Northumberland and other parts of the country. Shoestring Press of Nottingham features: Christopher Pilling (Keswick) Christopher Southgate (Devon) and Mandy Coe (Liverpool).
