Clare's first novel was for children: EDGE OF DANGER which won the Kathleen Fidler award. Her second novel was for adults WEGENER'S JIGSAW which is a fictional autobiography based on the life of revolutionary scientist and arctic explorer Alfred Wegener and won an Arts Council of England writers' award. Her third novel is called 98 REASONS FOR BEING and depicts a fictional encounter of an early psychiatrist with his patient in a mental asylum. Both novels for adults are published by Viking in the US and the first was made into an audiobook. She is very happy to give illustrated talks about the research and writing of these books as well as lead workshops on related topics.
