David Bateman is a people-friendly performance poet with a knack for getting silly and serious at the same time. He was winner of the Edinburgh Performance Poetry Competition 1990, and nominated as Best New Writing Talent in the Liverpool Echo Arts & Entertainment Awards 1996. He is a tutor in Poetry and Creative Writing for Liverpool University at the Centre for Continuing Education, and on several other Adult Education programmes.
