"Post-war Britain could be a drab and dreary place. Twenty years after the blitz on its cities they still hadn't cleared up properly...Then suddenly to the soundtrack provided by the Beatles a transformation began and more optimistic times were promised with Liverpool at the centre of attention.
What was it like for the children growing up at this time, in this place? This book gives them their voice and at the same time celebrates the timeless joy of childhood portraying a sense of family and community sometimes lacking in modern times."
