Graham Wilson lives and writes in Macclesfield. He is the author of several idiosyncratic and well reviewed books about hill walking. The first, Macc and the Art of Long Distance Walking, was published in 1998 and a new edition was released in summer 2007. His most recen bookt, A Rope of Writers, a look at a century of UK mountain literature, was shortlisted for the Boardman Tasker Prize in autumn 2006.

A wry, off-beat look at walking and climbing in the British hills, Climbing Down is an excellent read, full of dry humour and unexpected topics. It was Book of the Week in The Guardian (Travel section) and is illustrated with hand-drawn maps by Gerry Dale. Macc and the Art of Long Distance Walking

Macc & the Art of Long Distance Walking first hit the bookstands in May 1998. Its distinctive mix of walks, wit, literature and pubs was such a success that it was reprinted almost at once and has since become something of a minor classic. It includes walks in the Peak District, the Welsh Three Thousanders and the Bob Graham Round. Millrace has brought out a new (2007) edition of Macc & the Art of Long Distance Walking. The text has been updated and a new chapter and introduction added.
