Tony has written for theatre, local radio and the print media. His solo multi-media shows include Brit Boy (1999), Complicit Relations (2000), Moving (2004) and The Odyssey (2008) - the latter two premiering at Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester.
In 2012, he launched Manchester Men's Health, an organisation that seeks to improve the health and wellbeing of men through planned, evaluated, creative interventions, with an emphasis on poetry and the spoken word.
His recent creative art projects for Lime Arts, Manchester Art Gallery, Cape UK and Contact have explored key subjects around race and diversity, alcohol misuse, and sexual health with young people, and his poetry with young people is on display in Manchester Art Gallery. His workshops for Whitworth Art Gallery and The Manchester Museum, as part of their Looping & Weaving project in 2012, further promoted positive men's health.
Tall Tales for Tall Men Who Fall Well Short [Flapjack, 2012]:
"This collection is a journey of care and understanding for men" - Cathy Crabb, playwright
"The 'our town' of Tony's poetry is our town too. The smells that he evokes - fish and chips, beer and cigs, blood and spunk - these are our smells too. This is our poetry, these are our poems. They smell of home and friendship" - Tony Walsh AKA Longfella, Glastonbury Festival Poet in Residence 2011
"Tony's words make great music for the mind. This truly is modern, understandable, smart, real and, dare I say it, male poetry" - Neil Bell, actor & sonic poet
"The language rocks us to waking up to the beauty in the pain and the love in the loss. He will come to mind and make you smile and cry, a poet full of the fire of our times. Connect to the terrible now with one of the best poets around" - John G. Hall, poet
The Noble Savage [Mucusart, 2007 - reissued by Flapjack, 2012]:
"Tony Curry's poetry is a window into yesterday. A rhythmic world of skunk, Es and 501s, gorillas, queens and signing on. Historical and poetic. I love it" - Mike Garry, poet

Bristling with an accessible mix of urban eloquence, thought provoking pertinence and sly humour, The Noble Savage secures Tony's heartfelt and vibrant performance poetry to the page. He never played for England (or Sheffield Utd for that matter).

Men, hey? Rumbustious buccaneers and fallible flotsam. They set sail upon calm seas and weather storms; they love, they long, they grieve and hopefully find safe harbour.
From childhood to supposed adulthood, these simple yet complex creatures battle expectation and seek understanding. It's a fantastical voyage in a changing world where a wave can sometimes be mistaken, but where there are still countless treasures to be found...
This book is also intended as a resource to work with young men and men, in enabling them to relate to the different aspects of their lives through the use of planned and evaluated workshops (see www.manchestermenshealth.com).
